The BARS Council are pleased to announce that they will be holding a Spring Failsafe Forum in Birmingham at the Education Centre in the Heartlands Hospital. This Forum was set up following feedback from the BARS Conferences and the purpose is for Failsafe teams (Programme Managers, Team Leaders, Failsafe Officers and Administrators) to make positive connections with other Failsafe staff from other programmes, gain ideas for best practice, to ask questions and to come up with possible solutions.
The Forum will be run by Rob Davis (Senior QA Advisor and BARS Failsafe Co-ordinator) and Zoe Tobin (West Sussex DESP Failsafe & Administration Co-ordinator and BARS Secretary). An agenda has been set up following ideas expressed by BARS members which can be found by clicking the link in the resources section of the website. The agenda includes new Failsafe guidance and information from the Hospital Eye Service which will look at what problems may occur and discuss how these may be overcome.
There will be an introduction to GP2DRS by Phil Gardner (Screening IT Systems Manager for Public Health England and BARS Chairman) and a discussion on the best ways to reconcile and validate lists using spreadsheets or reconcilation tools. There will also be an opportunity to feedback your experience with GP2DRS and go through ideas on how to resolve problems.
The cost of this Forum has been specially negotiated and is £25 pp which includes lunch. .
