The Programme Management Meeting took place before the 2017 Bars Conference in Leeds, and was open to anyone attending the main conference in a management or leadership role within a diabetic eye screening programme, including programme managers, clinical leads, administration/failsafe managers and team leaders.
The meeting was presented by Beverley Tolley (Programme Manager - North & East Devon DESP) and consisted of two themes - Sharing best practice and facilitated networking.
All attendees were asked to introduce themselves to the group and give a very brief (2 minutes) talk on what they feel they do well in their programme or new things they are working on or even a specific challenge their programme faces. This then opened the door to networking in the second half where all attendees had the chance to speak to each other on a one to one basis, exchange good practice and promote further networking throughout the conference.
