These workshops will take place hourly from 10:00 hrs to 12:00 hrs on Thursday 26th September and will consist of the following:

This workshop will be undertaken using an Eidon confocal widefield fundus imaging device.

Each consecutive workshop will last 20 minutes (5 minute talk 15 minutes hands-on) with 7 people in each workshop at a time. These would run from 10:00-11:00 and 11:00-12:00. The cost for each workshop is £10.00 per head. Please register for these workshops on the Ticket Page.

Last year, BARS Council once again took the decision to offer two FREE places at our annual conference for individuals who would not otherwise be able to attend. These bursaries were aimed at DESPs which have sent the fewest delegates to the BARS conference in recent years. Following on from the success of that, BARS Council are delighted to announce that these two bursaries will be on offer again this year for our conference at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Liverpool on the 26th and 27th September, opening it up to all BARS members.
If you wish to take advantage of this offer, you will need to nominate yourself by sending an email to: email@example.com with your full name, work email address and job title plus a brief explanation (100 words or less) on why you feel you should be awarded a bursary place. The closing date for nominations is FRIDAY 7th JUNE 2019.
If successful, you will be notified before the end of June and you must have your manager's permission to attend the two-day conference. In return, you will be asked to write a few words for the Diabetic Eye Journal (DEJ) about your experience. Good Luck!
BARS Council are pleased to announce that submissions are now invited for the 2019 BARS Conference in Liverpool, kindly sponsored by Sense Medical Limited. Going forward from previous submissions, these have made very interesting talking points and allow information to be shared amongst the eye screening community.
If you would like to present a paper (10-15 minute presentation), poster (A0 portrait) or case study (5-7 minute presentation) at our annual conference, please download the application form from the BARS website and return it to us via post or email by 31st July 2019. The application form can be found in the Resources section of the website by scrolling down the page.
This year we are offering a Nikon Digital SLR Camera for the best poster presented at conference plus runner-up prizes of £100 and £50. There will also be a prize of £100 on offer for the best case study presentation.
In addition, papers chosen for presentation at this year's conference will be considered for publication in the Diabetic Eye Journal.
Entry is now open for the 2019 BARS Photography Competition, kindly sponsored by Topcon GB Ltd. Once again there are two categories - clinical and artistic - and two prizes of an Apple Store Voucher (£375) for each category up for grabs!
Entry is FREE, open to BARS members only and you do NOT have to attend the conference. Following on from feedback, there are changes to the rules. Full details of the competition can be found on the flyer in the Resources section of the website, along with the entry form by scrolling down the page. The Resources section is available on any page. Closing Date is 31st July. All photographs will be shown in the conference brochure.
