Haag-Streit UK Premier Slit-Lamp Imaging Course

Venue: HS-UK Training Facility, Harlow, Essex

The aim of this course is to provide attendees with a detailed overview of this highly-skilled ophthalmic imaging discipline. The day will feature lectures and demonstrations delivered by a faculty of highly-skilled slit lamp imaging specialists. The agenda will cover a wide range of topics, including the history of the slit lamp and a step-by-step guide to basic eye examination. It will also cover the various techniques required for anterior imaging, including; diffuse, focal and indirect illumination and retro illumination using the retina. There will also be hands-on workshop sessions, giving attendees the opportunity to examine their peers using state-of-the-art imaging devices, including Haag-Streit's BX 900. Often referred to as ‘the photographers slit lamp', the BX 900 combines the latest imaging technology with versatility, optical brilliance and exceptional Haag-Streit mechanical quality. Delegates will be able to claim 7.5 CPD points for their attendance on each day.

29th EASDec Annual Meeting 2019

Venue: Amsterdam, The Netherlands

EASDec is a study group of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), with special responsibility for the study of the eye complications of diabetes. Its aim is to promote the advancement of knowledge of all aspects of diabetic retinopathy, including epidemiology, pathology, pathophysiology, investigation and treatment through active collaboration between ophthalmologists and diabetologists. The ultimate goal of the Group is to prevent the development of diabetic retinopathy and to search for the best treatment of this condition in diabetic patients.

The Eye: Anatomy and Pathology Conference 2019

Venue: Early Excellence Centre, London

Date: 16 - 17 May

The conference is organised by the Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Foundations Trust and the two day conference is a back to basics event for all ophthalmic healthcare professionals.

RCOphth Annual Congress

Venue: SEC Glasgow

Date: 20 - 23 May

The Annual Congress is a four day medical, scientific and educational conference enabling delegates to hear about the latest developments in ophthalmic practice and research, learn how others manage conditions, listen to a wide variety of speakers across all disciplines and from around the world and to meet and collaborate. Parallel sessions featuring all ophthalmic topics take place over the first three days. The fourth day is dedicated to subspecialties for a more in depth look. BARS Spring Failsafe Forum 2019 - SOLD OUT

The BARS Council are pleased to announce that they will be holding a Spring Failsafe Forum in Birmingham at the Education Centre in the Heartlands Hospital.  This Forum was set up following feedback from the BARS Conferences and the purpose is for Failsafe teams (Programme Managers, Team Leaders, Failsafe Officers and Administrators) to make positive connections with other Failsafe staff from other programmes, gain ideas for best practice, to ask questions and to come up with possible solutions.
