Biomarkers in Ophthalmology

Biomarkers are increasingly used in medicine as indicators of a disease and treatment response. The eye lends itself to providing different biomarkers as structural indicators of pathology. We cover examples of neurological disease biomarkers and include ophthalmic indicators of multiple sclerosis. In addition to uses of OCT, we discuss new and emerging technologies.

The OIA 2017 Annual Conference

Professor Colin Willoughby - Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon in St. Paul's Eye Unit, Royal Liverpool University Hospital with a clinical and surgical practice in glaucoma, cornea, genetics and general ophthalmology.

Mr Niall Patton - Consultant Ophthalmologist, Manchester Royal Eye Hospital. His surgical expertise encompasses all aspects of vitreoretinal surgery.
